SYNARC Hosts Second in Series of Educational WebinarsNewark, CA – October 04, 2011 – SYNARC, the world’s leading provider of medical imaging services for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries, announced today that the second in our series of complimentary educational webinars will be conducted on Clinical Imaging in Atherosclerosis for Drug Development. The webinar will be presented on Tuesday, November 22nd at 2PM – 4PM EST (11AM – 1PM PST). Our complimentary series is designed to help participants better understand the benefits of using imaging for clinical trials and will cover a range of topics and therapeutic areas. The webinar will be presented by Zahi A. Fayad, Ph.D., M.S.E., B.S.E.E., Professor of Radiology and Medicine (Cardiology), at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Fayad is a leader in the development and use of multimodality cardiovascular imaging including computed tomography (CT), Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR), positron emission tomography (PET), and molecular imaging to study cardiovascular disease. He holds seven US and worldwide patents in the field of imaging, and has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications. His position as the principal investigator of two federal grants funded by the National Institutes of Health's National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute expresses his vast expertise and experience. His current avenue of research has been on the noninvasive assessment of atherosclerosis; he also has been developing novel methods for targeted drug delivery to improve the treatment of atherosclerosis.
