Synarc Acquires Czech Clinic

Acquisition expands CCBR’s presence in Central Europe

San Francisco – May 7, 2007 - Synarc Inc., the world's leading provider of medical imaging analysis, biochemical marker, and subject recruitment services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, today announced the acquisition of CCBR Czech, a clinical trial services center in Pardubice, Czech Republic.

The acquisition expands the opportunities in central Europe for the Center for Clinical and Basic Research A/S (CCBR), a Synarc subsidiary and global clinical development and research institution specializing in subject recruitment and the design and conduct of clinical trials.

"The location of CCBR's latest clinic in central Europe makes it ideal for subject recruitment in this geography, which is integral when conducting vital research," said Synarc president and chief executive officer Gary Velasquez. "We are committed to giving patients the highest quality care, a pleasant experience and convenience."

CCBR uses proven recruitment strategies to quickly fulfill clinical trial participant enrollment targets across fewer sites for more efficient subject enrollment and data management.  Clinic managers have an expert understanding of the communities from which to recruit subjects, and routinely exceed enrollment and retention targets.

CCBR has existing clinics in Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Brazil, Romania, Poland, and China. Its staff includes physicians, study nurses, radiographers, DEXA operators and bio-technicians.

The Czech clinic was started by Daniel Fertek and Tomas Hala.  Other key contributors to the development of this clinic include Dr. Stepan Kutilek, Dr. Pavel Zivny and Prof. Vladimir Palicka.
