Chunying Wu, M.D., Ph.D.
Director, Arthritis Radiology Services


Dr Chunying Wu, M.D., Ph.D., Director, Arthritis Radiology Services, is a board certified radiologist with musculoskeletal medical imaging experience. He provides expert validation of medical image readings in various modalities, including radiography, MRI, CT, and ultrasound, and readings in Synarc radiological services. Over the past 17 years, Dr. Wu has read a considerable number of patients with arthritis and osteoporosis for clinical trials.

Previously, Dr. Wu was the Associate Radiologist at the Department of Radiology at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). At UCSF, he focused on medical imaging for clinical trials for vertebral morphometry on spine x-rays, rheumatoid arthritis, ultrasound assessment of osteoporosis. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Research Physician and Associate Radiologist at the Department of Radiology at UCSF. He was a Visiting Fellow with the Department of Radiology at UCSF. His research work included projects in quantitative computed tomography for osteoporosis, comparison of semi-quantitative and quantitative technique for assessment of osteoporotic spine fracture.

Dr. Wu received his medical doctorate from Fujian Medical University, China and completed his residency at the Department of Radiology at Fujian Medical University, China. He also completed post-graduate studies in Musculoskeletal Radiology and Neuroradiology at the Department of Radiology at Fujian Medical University, China. Dr. Wu also received his Ph.D. from Tianjin Medical University, China.
