Dr. Jean-Claude Provost, M.D, is Senior Vice President and Head of Clinical Research Centers CCBR Division. He was formerly Vice President of Imaging Services and General Manager of the Cardiology & Neurovascular Strategic Business Unit of CCBR-SYNARC. He is also the Medical Director for Cardiology and Neurovascular Disease. Dr. Provost has considerable experience in the field of cardiac, metabolic and neurovascular disease and in clinical trials in general.

He has over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and clinical trials industries, having occupied various positions in Clinical R&D with E.Merck, Bayer Pharmaceuticals and Wyeth. Before, he was investigating physician in Clinical Pharmacology at Saint–Antoine University Hospital of Paris. He has published many medical and scientific articles and regularly speaks at scientific congresses around the world.

Dr. Provost received his medical degree from the School of Medicine at the University of Paris. He also has a degree in Clinical Pharmacology and a degree with distinction in Methodology and Statistics applied to Clinical Research from the University of Paris.

While at IôDP, now CCBR-SYNARC Paris, Dr. Provost was the Medical Director, then Managing Director, and Chief Executive Officer for IôDP Medical Imaging Research. He managed the creation of the Clinical Trials Services (imaging). He also defined and organized business development activities, and was responsible for IôDP’s reorganization, redevelopment and funding in January 2002. Prior to IôDP, Dr. Provost held numerous roles within Pharmaceutical companies. He was the Director for the Cardiology, Internal Medicine & Biotechnology Group at Laboratory WYETH, where he developed, defined and had oversite over medical strategies for clinical studies, support for the medical and marketing department, and registration. He was with Bayer from September 1993 to April 1997, where he was European Project Leader in the Cardiovascular Therapeutic Area, and was responsible for clinical development in Europe of a new class hypo-cholesterolemic drug. He was also Clinical Project Leader in the Cardiology Department, where he was responsible for conceptualization and realization of clinical studies in cardiovascular disease while he managed international coordination of a large scale, multinational morbi-mortality trial. Dr. Provost was also a Clinical Research Physician in the Cardiovascular Department at Laboratory at E. MERCK, in France, and a Research Physician at the Clinical Pharmacology Unit at Saint Antoine University Hospital in Paris.
