Patrick Garnero, Ph.D., D.Sc. is General Manager and Vice President of CCBR-SYNARC's Biochemical Marker Division in Lyon, France. He also is a senior research scientist at the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM research unit 664) in Lyon.

Dr. Garnero's research has focused on developing new biochemical markers of bone, cartilage and synovium turnover, with particular emphasis on collagenous and non-collagenous proteins of extracellular matrices, and the epidemiology, pathogenesis and treatment of osteoporosis. He has directed quality assurance in biochemical assays for many clinical trials and epidemiological studies in osteoporosis and arthritis.

Dr. Garnero has published numerous scientific articles and is regularly invited to speak at international scientific meetings. He is on NIH and expert panels to advance biochemical markers in clinical research.

His Ph.D. in Human Biology and Biochemistry is from the University of Lyon. Dr. Garnero has a Masters of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Marseilles.
