Senior Corporate Accountant
This position will work closely with the Corporate Consolidations & Finance Operations Manager to ensure the financial statements of Synarc’s multinational legal entities are consolidated timely every month. This position will also include proactive involvement in the company-wide month-end close so that it occurs efficiently and with a high level of quality. Recurring duties include assisting with the review of the subsidiaries’ financial statements, working with entity international and domestic Country Controllers, completing the consolidation of the statements and preparing related financial reports. A solid understanding of accounting concepts and principles is necessary. Additional duties will be fluctuation and ad hoc analysis and implementation of policies and procedures.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare consolidated reporting package for review by upper management.
- Monitor status of close procedures and reporting deliverables.
- Prepare consolidating balance sheet and income statement with associated eliminations.
- Prepare consolidated cash flow statement per FASB 96.
- Review inter-company elimination accounts, work with entity Controllers to resolve differences.
- Assist in the development and implementation of reporting templates for all consolidating legal entities.
- Prepare various fluctuation analyses and reports at the consolidation level.
- Assist in developing corporate accounting policies and procedures and implementing them internationally.
- Assist in maintaining accounting system controls and set-up such as organization, chart of accounts and project codes.
- Support domestic and international units as needed.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting.
- Assist in drafting the annual financial statements and footnotes
- Assist in researching accounting issues as they arise and provide summary of issues and recommendations.
Education, Work Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
- Bachelors Degree or higher in Accounting , CPA preferred.
- 3+ years experience in accounting roles, preferably with Big 4 and corporate consolidation accounting experience.
- Experience with international accounting issues, including inter-company and translation accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting process and controls.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi task and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Energetic, flexible team player with the ability to adapt in a changing environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge of Micosoft Access a plus.
